Our Ingredients & Sourcing
Every ingredient has a purpose. At Lilā, we believe that what God has placed in nature holds wisdom, including qualities we are still discovering. This inspires us to choose natural ingredients wherever possible and to stay close to their source, preserving what makes them valuable.
We appreciate what human knowledge can bring to skincare, while choosing simplicity over unnecessary alteration. Our approach is to work thoughtfully with what nature offers—with care for our ingredients, respect for their origins, and gratitude to the Creator.
We choose plant oils for their naturally occurring fatty acids and the distinct qualities they contribute to our skincare.
Organic Cold-Pressed Olive Oil
Olive oil is rich in oleic acid and naturally contains antioxidant compounds, including tocopherols—forms of vitamin E—and polyphenols. Cold pressing helps preserve these components. We value its combination of plant lipids and naturally occurring antioxidants.
Organic Virgin Coconut Oil
Coconut oil contains predominantly saturated fatty acids, especially lauric acid, alongside smaller amounts of caprylic, capric and other fatty acids. In skincare, it helps reduce moisture loss and soften dry skin. We choose virgin coconut oil for its minimally processed character.
Organic Castor Oil
Castor oil has a distinctive fatty-acid profile dominated by ricinoleic acid. This sets it apart from many other plant oils and contributes to its skin-conditioning properties. It brings lasting richness to our balms and helps keep skin feeling soft and supple.
Each oil contributes something different. We combine them thoughtfully according to the purpose of each formula.
