1. What makes Lilā skincare different?
Lilā skincare products are thoughtfully handcrafted in small batches in Québec, Canada, using halal, grass-fed, grass-finished beef tallow and carefully selected botanical ingredients. Our philosophy embraces simplicity, traditional skincare, and the nourishing qualities of natural fats, butters, and oils. We believe beautiful skincare begins with carefully chosen ingredients.
2. Are Lilā products halal?
Lilā uses halal-sourced beef tallow in its skincare products. We carefully select our ingredients with attention to their origin and quality. Halal sourcing does not necessarily mean that the finished products have independent halal certification.
3. Are Lilā products natural?
Our skincare formulas are made with naturally derived ingredients, including beef tallow, botanical oils, plant butters, and selected essential oils. We avoid adding unnecessary ingredients and focus on simple, purposeful formulations.

5. What is beef tallow, and why is it used in skincare?
Beef tallow is a traditional animal-derived fat naturally rich in fatty acids. It has been used in skincare for generations because of its emollient qualities. In cosmetic formulations, tallow helps soften the skin, reduce moisture loss, and provide a rich, nourishing texture. Lilā uses halal, grass-fed, grass-finished beef tallow.
6. What is the difference between Lilā Tallow Face Cream and Tallow Body Butter?
Our Tallow Face Cream is made with beef tallow, olive oil, and arrowroot powder. Selected varieties also contain botanical essential oils. Our Tallow Body Butter has a richer blend of beef tallow, mango butter, olive oil, castor oil, coconut oil, and vitamin E. Scented varieties also contain essential oils. Both are concentrated, water-free moisturizers.
7. Are Lilā products suitable for all skin types?
Our moisturizers are designed for a variety of skin types, particularly skin that benefits from rich, emollient skincare. Individual results may vary. We recommend beginning with a small amount and performing a patch test before first use.
8. Are Lilā products suitable for sensitive skin?
We offer Unscented Face Cream and Unscented Body Butter for customers who prefer products without added fragrance or essential oils. However, we recommend patch testing before applying a new product more widely.
9. Do Lilā products contain artificial fragrances?
Our scented creams and body butters use selected botanical essential oils rather than added synthetic fragrances. Our Unscented varieties contain no added fragrance.
10. Do Lilā creams and body butters contain water?
No. Our tallow creams and body butters are formulated without added water. These concentrated formulas are rich in natural fats, butters, and oils, so only a small amount is generally needed.
How to Use & Store
11. How much product should I apply?
A little goes a long way! Begin with a small amount and gently massage it onto clean, dry or slightly damp skin. Add more as needed, depending on your skin's needs.
12. Can I use Lilā Tallow Face Cream every day?
Yes. Our Face Cream is intended for daily moisturizing. Apply a small amount to clean skin in the morning or evening, according to your preference.
13. Can I use Lilā Body Butter on my hands and feet?
Absolutely! Our Body Butter is designed for moisturizing the body, including hands, arms, legs, elbows, knees, and feet. It is particularly useful for areas that feel dry or rough.
14. How should I store Lilā products?
Store your products in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, moisture, and excessive heat. Keep containers tightly closed and avoid introducing water or contaminants. Do not refrigerate.
15. Why does the texture sometimes change?
Our creams and body butters are made with natural fats and oils that respond to temperature changes. They may become softer in warmer environments or firmer in cooler conditions. Mild changes in consistency are normal.
16. How can I keep my products fresh?
Always use clean, dry hands or a cosmetic spatula. Close the lid tightly after each use and protect the contents from water, moisture, and excessive heat.
17. Can I use Lilā products on my face and body?
Our Face Cream is formulated specifically for facial moisturizing and can also be applied to other dry areas. Our Body Butter is primarily intended for body care.

18. What is the difference between your scented varieties?
- Unscented: No added fragrance or essential oils.
- Rosewood: A delicate, sweet, woody-floral botanical aroma.
- Lavender + Ho Wood: A gentle blend of fresh floral Lavender and soft, sweet, woody Ho Wood.
- Frankincense + Black Spruce: A warm, resinous, woody fragrance complemented by fresh evergreen notes.
19. Are essential oils safe for everyone?
Essential oils are concentrated botanical ingredients, and some individuals may be sensitive to them. We recommend patch testing before first use.
20. Why does the scent of natural products sometimes vary?
The aroma of botanical ingredients and essential oils can vary slightly between batches due to natural differences in the raw materials.
